POSITION VACANT: COMMUNITY LEGAL EDUCATION OFFICER: EMPOWERING COMMUNITY PROJECT
Posted on Thu 3 May 2012The position is responsible for educating the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community about their legal rights and responsibilities prior to, and during the implementation and rollout of Place Based Income Management in Greater Shepparton. The position aims to increase access to justice for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander community by providing relevant, culturally appropriate information that is empowers people to act on their rights. The information can be in various formats such as outreach, legal clinics, materials, merchandise and projects. This position is funded through a Victoria Law Foundation Grant and the position must perform under the relevant conditions under the funding agreement.
4-5 month part-time contract (0.4 FTE/2 days) with the possibility of extension. Must be available to start 28 May 2012.
