VALS supports the planned day of action on Thursday 22 February and will allow staff to participate in the action.

The day of action is designed to encourage employers to call for an end to violence and for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and across all of Israel and Palestine.

VALS made a statement calling for an immediate ceasefire in October 2023.

VALS believes that allowing staff to participate in the day of action is an important measure we can take to show that we are committed to our previous statement and bringing about an immediate ceasefire.

VALS is an anti-racist organisation and we are founded on the values of social justice, human rights and equality. We seek to dismantle racism in all its forms, anti-Indigenous racism, antisemitism, anti-Palestinian racism, and Islamophobia.

We hope that governments and organisations that share our values will also support the action and publicly call for an immediate ceasefire.
